Disagree, when an 18 yo Brit visits the US they're bound by US liquor laws, same for a Pakistani Muslim 18 yo. People flouting laws is a diff issue altogether, ranging from ex-Muslims blaspheming in Pakistan to women uncovering in Iran to any individual Muslim criminal.

Islamic laws are laws of specific Islamic countries and, as any law should be followed. In the West we allow for freedom of dress etc. therefore the need to conform is not mandatory. It should be self-evident our society is "non-Islamic" thus rendering your question an inane one.

1/2 It is just a shot in the dark, but maybe the verse from the Quran that says "You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah." has something to do with it.

2/2 If somebody believes that, at face value or in a vague sense, it suddenly makes complete sense why such a person would expect everybody else to adhere to their rules, but refuse for themselves to adhere to other people's rules.
