So last night I went to book club-the book we were discussing was mine-one of the members is Muslim (from Iran) and she initially was defensive over Islam, "this is your family/mother, not the religion" After a short conversation, she started to tell us about her mental scars /1

Wow, I feel for you & your friends. It's obvious to me, having grown up Catholic/Christian, that religion is def a cause of much strife& anguish. It's actually a freeing relief to put it all behind me. I mean my belief in God is personal/spiritual...but NO church directs me now!
