Not to defend Islam, but it’s not in the Quran. People do stupid shit for a lot of reasons. Religion is not the only one. Also, saying it’s cultural does not mean it’s an issue with India as a country. Yes, it’s a cultural issue WITHIN Islam, but ONLY in South Asia

Exactly. Also, according to Hadith, temporary marriage with the intention to go back to the first husband is forbidden. Muhammad personally cursed the participants in the Hadith. (The Chapters on Marriage - Vol. 3, Book 9, Hadith 1936)
