I would agree the left doesn't have a monopoly on Liberalism. Liberals can range from center left to center. ( In the US anyway). There's not a lot of rightists I'd consider all that liberal. They're usually pretty conservative.
Using words as they are meant? Incredible! I think lib dem psychos need a lesson in English vocabularies.
I agree with the sentiment (100%).but I think the term is tainted beyond repair (I say that with great sadness). I will be thrilled if you, or anyone else reclaim it. But I care more about the freedom we are losing than the word we are.

People have forgotten that liberalism comes from liberty and is related to personal freedom, so it's now used by people who want to punish you for wrongthink and hatespeech, force you to upbring your children their way and attack people who demonstrate the views opposite to them
Im finding that end of the pool is much more tolerant and diverse than I'd imagined. There are pro choice, pro gay marriage people on the right. The libertarian and Objectivist factions of the right are absolutely more supportive of socially liberal values.
