I remember going into a church for the first time and being so shocked at how different the atmosphere was. No one was yelling about the Jews or about burning in hell...it was so weird 
I’ve been to churches, Catholic and Protestant. Nobody yells. Atmosphere is calm. On the other hand the Born Again Elevengelist Christian preachers, Pat Robertson, Benny Hinn, Frank Graham types, not only yell but are also extremely strident.
I’m not sure it gives an entirely wrong impression.
