I’m re-reading End of Faith and I think Sam is very clear on his position re religious moderates. But, like flat-earthers and others that hold irrational beliefs-we have to share the planet w them, so we have to engage in dialogue and not just be dismissive.
Armin and I are not on the same pg here. I’m more of the belief that less dangerous fairy tales are preferable to dangerous fairy tales as we move in the direction of eventually no fairy tales. We will get there. In the meantime, I’d be happy if they stop killing us.
Problem w/ that is if u acknowledged some of the good parts of Islam eventually ppl will ask why r the bad parts not the word of god? Islam is like a chained beast that sometimes slumbers but it will eventually awaken & break its chains. And when it does it is ferocious.
