I’ve noticed that most Arabs leave Islam, but most Pakistanis want to hang on-advocating for reform or ‘cultural Islam’ Why the distinction? Is it because Arabs have a better understanding of Islam? Or is it because Pakistanis have few cultural aspects once you remove Islam?

I think it’s easier for Pakistanis to make the transition from gray to a lighter gray. But Arabs don’t generally to go from black to light gray...it makes much more sense to go from black to white. Does that make sense?

Replying to @YasMohammedxx
If you’re a ‘moderate’ Muslim (Arab or not), then reform makes sense. It’s just a continuation of living in the gray area. But if you’re a fundamentalist, w a literal understanding of the religion, then you’re not comfortable w gray. At least that’s how it was for me.
