And how well do you think gay kids do in Saudi Arabia and Muslim run countries?

I’m gay. Conservatives have traditionally been and continue to be systematically against gay rights. You don’t get to use gay rights as a weapon to attack Muslims while I’m around.

Muslim countries, like lots of very Christian countries in Africa and much like parts of the Deep South of America have *all* been appalling to gay people. I don’t condemn all Christians for the behavior of extremists, and I won’t condemn Muslims for the same reason.

Meanwhile, “political correctness” has been one of the things that has got gay people marriage equality, protections in law from discrimination, and a large number of visible and open gay people. Thank god for people becoming less ignorant and more liberal.

There’s nothing wrong with liberty but political correctness has gone way beyond that, and there’s a big difference between Christians not supporting gay people or not wanting to bake them a cake and making homosexuality illegal or killing people for it.

You’re misunderstanding Tom. There’s a huge difference between intolerant assholes in a country-and a country that will execute you for being gay.pic.twitter.com/ANcF4Bi5bt

No, there are just more intolerant assholes in those countries. 40% of all homeless youth in America are LGBT, thrown out by their families. LGBT people are beaten regularly, discriminated against, almost all had anti-gay language used at them as kids...

... and in my lifetime, a plague that killed LGBT people was ignored, people were regularly arrested for kissing or holding hands in public, People could be fired and often were killed for being gay.

I know all that. And all of it is atrocious. But are you unable to concede that state-sanctioned murder of
#LGBT ppl is the biggest issue right now? Are you so he’ll-bent on only speaking about the mistakes of western countries?2 replies 1 retweet 2 likes -

I am happy to campaign against and speak out against the treatment of LGBT people in many Muslim majority countries. But I will not condemn Muslims en masse or Islam to do it. I simply won’t.

I’m happy to hear that. So we’re on the same pg. PS: No one in this thread has condemned Muslims en masse, so your virtue signalling is unnecessary.

Right, we’re done. You will forgive me if I don’t believe people who talk about “virtue signaling” are or ever will be allies to the vulnerable, whether they be women, gay people or people attacked for their faith.

You’re a right wing person, siding with those who would and have condemn Muslims, LGBT people, and other ethnic and religious minorities. You wish to use people like me as a weapon to attack people you don’t like. We have nothing to talk about any more.
