This is a great concept that I agree w, but in the West it’s cool to hate your own country. If you’re patriotic, ppl misconstrue that as nationalism, so therefore it’s gross and racist to be patriotic.
Ultra modern lifestyle makes people to ignore Father, Mother & own country. If we can't be loyal to our own roots we can't be true to anything else.

I think sometimes criticism of a government policy is made to look as unpatriotic when it is nothing of the kind.Also remember the old saying 'Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel.

We are experiencing same phenomenon in India. Mostly convent educated, suave, rich, mingling in cocktail circuit take pride in bashing India.
