Seventeen retweets and 37 likes for a statement criticizing me - saying I should say precisely what I said. The only bit that seems insane is *banning* people from wearing clothes and following their religions.
And for the women that absolutely cannot live without it, well, there are plenty of countries that will welcome them and their niqabs. When I was in the Middle East, I had to abide by their dress code laws. I made the choice to live there, so I had to adhere to the laws.

I don’t think it’s okay to say to people who are citizens of a country, “we don’t like the way you dress so you must leave the country”. They may not have citizenship anywhere else! Or speak any other language. That’s just not practical for many people.

“Don’t like it, move back where you came from” is a pretty ugly sentiment. I would argue unnecessarily so.
