I’ve spoken to ppl that are just heartbroken that their child would convert to Islam. They ask: Why would he convert to a religion that calls for my death? It’s a good question. I think ppl have to be in a really bad place emotionally/mentally to convert. Especially women.

I hear you but it's largely out of ignorance. A lot of people have been lied to about what they're getting into. And the oppression narrative is really strong. Its the same reason people in 2018 still become communists
That’s true. That’s why so many leave the religion after about 4-5 yrs...it takes them that long to realize they’ve been lied to. Unfortunately many are already married and have kids by then so it makes things messy and difficult.
