That people compare hijabs/niqabs/burqas to habits just shows their ignorance, to be frank. Poeple who raise the question, instantly look completely stupid.

And no country compels someone to become a nun in an Order that wears wimples - and many Orders don’t these days. It’s also a uniform for a few rather than a prescription for all women and is not used to suggest that that those who are not nuns are unwrapped sweets for the taking

Because the nun isn’t forced to be a nun. She chose to be a nun. And if she wasn’t a nun, she wouldn’t be forced to wear head scarf. She can make her own choices.
