The line between Salafism and Sufism isn't clear cut. Interestingly, there are many Sufis who believe in some vision of an Islamic State, at least in Somalia where I'm from. The case may be different in other Muslim countries that have robust Sufi traditions.

It's complex, yes. There is I have read (am open to correction) a tradition of quietism within Salafism, and the murderer of Mr Asad Shah attended Sufi mosques in Bradford/ As Private Eye pointed out, he is somehow able to put out videos calling for murder from prison.
