that the reason they suffer racism and discrimination in the US is because of the criticism of the CCP's human rights abuses. So instead of fighting back against real racism, the students lash out at the Uyghurs -- the victims of the CCP's worst abuses. Just all around sad. 2/2

Here is the psychology: The Chinese students face anti-Asian/Chinese racism in their daily life, they have real grievances, but they don't know how to bring it up and how to have the injustice addressed. At the same time, master-manipulator the CCP has been telling them 1/2

It has been 17 years since the Chinese government allowed a UN human rights investigation, and it's not about to allow one now in Xinjiang, just a "friendly visit." So why is the UN rights chief still delaying her report?

When people ask me how info environment within the Great Firewall is like, I say, “imagine the whole country is one giant Qanon.” There are surely people who have dissenting views, but they get censored or they just give up, because it just feels futile to refute falsehoods…

Disagree. Beijing is committing horrible abuses - Uyghurs are suffering unspoken pain - to take a stand, to "contain" that is only moral. If not doing anything about Xinjiang/HK is the condition for engagement, one really can't blame the US for the deterioration of the relation.
