It's absolutely appropriate to use as an insult. Being misogynistic is not a protected class; this is a label they created themselves to 'justify' their misogyny, i.e. "Girls won't bone me, so it's okay for me to hate them." tl;dr "incel" is in no way equivalent to those slurs.

I’m sure there are people that identify as white nationalists that are not in favour of an ethnostate, actually is fine with non white people, inter racial dating and marriage, and basically is just proud of his country. That doesn’t change what white nationalist means.
-
If you’re willing to claim an identity, join a group, and be an avowed member of that group, the primary focus of that group goes with it. This isn’t a case of bad apples spoiling the bunch. The primary mission statement of incels is complaining about how they are owed sex.
-
You don't get to define the name people use on themselves. There might be incels who had not heard the word but adopt it w/o adopting the undesirable aspects. It's bigoted of you to suggest they are all misogynists.
-
That is like arguing you should not condemn people who call themselves Nazis because "maybe they're just socialists who really like their country, right?"
-
That's a stupid argument. An incels is an involuntary celibate. While there are misogynist incels that is an obligatory characteristic of an incel. So while racial discrimination is inherent to Nazis, we can find incels who simply can't get laid.
-
You are trying to re-co-opt 'incel' back to a broader meaning. This is pointless, diversionary, and either disingenuous or ignorant. Incel is not simply an abbreviation; it is a self-assigned group label for a specific ideology. Not all involuntary celibates are incels.
-
You are ignorant about the ways language expands. In fact the stupidity of your argument is right there in your post "re-co-opt" which means by your own admission you know that incels are not what you claim they are.
-
Wait, so because I know that 'incel' *used* to mean something different, I'm hypocritical in not accepting your assertion that it has now changed again? That's a logical fallacy on your part, not confusion on mine.

So you've surveyed every group of incels? Did it take you much time? Where can we see your comprehensive research?
