Caixin's reporting has been excellent and this story does make sense though the definition of informed might be subject to discussion

Caixin's reporting has been excellent, but this claim seems suspect. If there's no H2H transmission, there's no epidemic nor threat of an epidemic. If that was the case, why did Xi need to get involved from January 7th to personally oversee affairs related to the epidemic?

caixin just a other propaganda agency. Rumor says early January there is a 内参 pass along in the party. They knew it all along, just waiting for words from Beijing.

It mustn't be true. Li esd a veteran of President Xi's, she also claimed that the lockdown in Wuhan was her suggest at 22 January.

they did hide the H2H contact info just bcz they knew they woulda been isolated from the World. "If I'm burning, you're burning too." That's what they did!

That's kind of at odds with the central database being taken down. Unfortunately this seems more like a coordinated effort to prevent panic and prepare for a lockdown once 春运 has finished.
