Exactly. There are different perspectives to the history we were taught, as we were taught it in short snippets from the white property owners' perspective. There were other sides to the stories. Our society needs to know them to get a full understanding.

Our country was built on the backs of slaves. This is a fact. We can't rewrite history, but we can learn from it and hopefully use this knowledge to understand how to make a better future for us and our children.
