As testing has ramped up, it has become clear that in states like New York and Louisiana the coronavirus could have been spreading undetected for weeks. Now Trump administration says it will use data to suggest "categorizing counties as high-risk, medium-risk, or low-risk."

His guidelines are meaningless. Governors and mayors get to set stay at home orders. If they think there's a risk that requires it, they are free to ignore the President's thoughts. That's the beauty of federalism.

I saw this, called the CDC, and spoke to a nice press person. Now, press people are awesome, but when pressed about a simple question re: Trump letter alleging increased testing/etc., they hadn't heard of the letter. I was asked to follow up in an email.

Here is Donald Trump again lying and sugarcoating what is now and has been a full-blown crisis: “There is still a long battle ahead, but our efforts are already paying dividends." And he did it in a letter written to governors on White House letterhead! The man is shameless.
