    If this post is accurate, Yale is engaging in draconian pandemic security theater. Forbidding students who are already boosted and effectively quarantined from eating outdoors at restaurants has no basis in science or the data about coronavirus spread. Why?

    Yale tells students—all of whom are required to be boosted—that they may not eat at outdoor restaurants.

    You might have noticed Twitter doing its panic thing over a new covid variant. The only problem is that it's not a new covid variant, and it hasn't succeeded in outcompeting the other strains since its discovery.

    Guys, B.1.640.2 isn’t new. It actually PREDATES Omicron. It's a sub-lineage of B.1.640- which caused some concern back in mid-November but couldn’t even compete with Delta. B.1.640.2 was first sequenced OVER a month ago and was officially recognized as a lineage in December.

    My general assumption is that anyone who is nice on this platform is probably nice in person, because it takes *way* too much effort to fake being nice on Twitter, which constantly incentivizes the opposite.

    Those on Twitter who make it sound like half of America is anti-vax are selling a distorted and divisive picture of the country. While there are partisan splits when it comes to true anti-vaxxers, most American adults are vaccinated, regardless of their ideology—and that's great!

    More than 85% of adults over 18 have gotten at least one dose of Covid vaccine, most will go on to complete series. This is a phenomenal public health achievement, and as much as many bemoan fact that more haven’t chosen to get vaccinated, this has outpaced any early expectation.

    This is incorrect. What the survey cited here found was that 60% of *those who are unvaccinated* are Republican or Republican leaners. But that is a percentage of a minority. Most Republicans are in fact vaccinated!

    Unvaccinated in US today: 60% of Republicans 17% of Democrats By far the most politicized response in the G7.
