we don't even know what ethnicity she actually is but if she were Chinese, her name should be Qiu Chang. Or Chang Qiu 常秋 in the Chinese order. It would mean "Lasting Autumn."

Even as a child when I read "Cho Chang" I was like, really? If I, an idiot youth could recognise it as lazy and off-putting, I have no idea how she ever thought it was a good idea, or how the legion of adults that surrounded her agreed and signed off on it.

Isn't Cho like, a Korean surname and Chang a Chinese one? I've not seen the latter used often though, and mixing East Asian names together is just... ew.
