    In April 1983 Dr Mathilde Krim founded the AIDS Medical Foundation, the first private organisation to support AIDS research. She was part of the team who first tested the sex of the unborn child, and an activist for human rights, LGBT and civil rights. She died in January 2018.

    Three weeks today it's ! We're taking part & we'd love you to join in! Sat 21st April 11-3. We'll be preparing beds, planting out seedlings, organising garden waste etc. All tools & gloves provided, plus refreshments & free hot lunch from 1pm.

    In March 1964 pianist, singer and activist Nina Simone performed Mississippi Goddam to a mostly white audience at Carnegie Hall. She wrote it (“my first civil rights song”) after the murder of Medgar Evers and the killing of 4 girls in a church bombing.
