I’m one of those aliens from the TOS episode Let That Be Your Last Battlefield and it rubs me in both ways at once.

I honestly think NOT honoring the blacks on xbox would kinda be like pretending they’re not there. There’s nothing wrong in mentioning someones’ color, that really doesn’t make it racist or anything. It’s literally an honoring :) if I’m not mistaken!

I think it’s the actual term “our blacks” that’s offensive, not the mentioning & honoring. Just the offensive term

It can but you would just say friends or coworkers. I don't go to work and say my caucasians lol. I say coworkers.

But black people need to be uplifted and acknowledged for the great things they do, imo

Correction- I looked into it more and see there are POC working on this initiative. I REALLY wonder what that meeting was like when you were coming up with the name. I'm positive there were better names on the board than this.

The black folks who work at Xbox who put this together. Thus the name, Blacks at Xbox. It’s an internal affinity group that does some external events like the one at GDC & at PAX West.

That's disappointing if they inputted that idea (of course would never know), but even then...all those black folks in that group and not ONE said "ehh...this doesn't seem right." ijs.

I heavily agree with the mission and partners, and the imagery is dope, but the name should be re-evaluated. As an internal group made by the folks there, it's fine, but externally facing? Let's just say there's no way it would have been received well. This was an oversight
