Yeah this exactly. Someone sees a headline or summary of an article, doesn't read it, and decides to write their own piece on the findings. Sometimes it's just confirmation bias, others it's deliberately misleading.

This does only minor good considering most of the time the public can't access more than the abstract. Agreed it should be done but papers should also be more accessible.
