What a lovely morning for counting birds at Highlights included 4 stonechats (which have spent the winter feeding in our special bumble-bird birdfood crops) and lots of species in song, including our first singing skylarks this year.

Our colleagues were out surveying a potential site last week and spotted this fabulous harvest mouse 🐭 nest! If you spot one, tennis ball sized & approx. 40cm above the ground, let us or know. Happy spotting!

Our roving volunteers were out in the frost the other day. With the aid of a 20x (!) hand lens 🔍 we managed to find one solitary brown hairstreak 🦋 egg on a piece of blackthorn. Keen eyes are essential for egg hunting! 👏 👏👏
