This makes me so glad I eat mostly from three local farms, all within 15 miles of my house: one raises pastured beef, another free-range eggs/chickens and ruminants, and the third is a pastured cow dairy.

So what do we do, just do nothing? Our system is unsustainable and hugely damaging. The world needs to change the way it eats. These companies, like it or not, are in a position to do something.

I agree something needs to be done, but it’s increasingly apparent that all the silly, self-limiting trends, like clean eating, performative ‘veganism’, various exclusion diets... even, weirdly, the unreasonable terror around GM agriculture... all point to a sort of mega-trend...

Just think how long it took to start withdrawing trans-fats after Mary Enig alerted the world to their dangers. Will it take decades before we know the dangers of "fake meat"? We should all (except food CEOs!) wait 2 decades before we even think about trying them!
