Alright. This is the last time (doubt it) I'm gonna post about this in this capacity. We're going to talk about the modern Black Panthers and especially about the ones who showed up in atlanta last weekend.

Alright let's get back the this group who showed up last weekend carrying rifles and calling for black folks to arm themselves as is their right. (Agreed!) Their leader and mouth piece for the day was a black lady referred to by the internet as Queen.

Apparently Decaturish were able to get in touch with someone from their "organization" to get some clarification. They said they were instead the Black Panthers Revolutionaries Atlanta Chapter. Scroll back up. It's not exactly the same group name as before.

But I found that odd as fuck that this group of people with rifles coming out of no where has now claimed to be not one but TWO different organizations that sound almost exactly like the Nationalist orgs that are hate groups.

Now let's take a look at their patches. They were different than all the other hate groups symbols. I wont dwell long but it should be pointed out that are 66th Infantry Division of the US Army. It's not an official organization emblem.

So what the fuck is going on right? This was driving me crazy trying to figure out what's going on in my state and if these are people I can work with or should fight against.

But scrolling through their feeds... this was their first time doing it. EVER. Zero prior demonstrations. No posts with guns. No calls to action. They were cosplaying activists for the first time.

Weird right? Then there is this photo of Queeny with her arms interlocking with local police. Intentions aside the optics are terrible for a movement like that. It undermines a lot of effort being put into these protests.

My wife had pointed out that they all looked suspiciously attractive. And it makes more sense when you think they most likely had a team of Make up artists and costume designers making sure they all looked the part.

It's just disheartening. Ive spent the last week trying to find out where I need to be focusing my efforts locally to help out in person and I thought I finally found a group that I could really help.

Any ways I wrote this out more for me than any one else. I had to get this out of my head. But also I needed to show that you cant trust every one who shows up in your corner becaus they may be trying to co opt your movement and undermine your message.
