“Wist” is related to "wit" which is the keen perception and cleverly apt expression of those connections between ideas that awaken amusement and pleasure (Dictionary.com). Also ~feels~ like it should be related to “wistful” even though that isn't in the etymology. 4/n

We went through 387 possible names, everything from Afoot to Zest. We thought about actions related to memories, objects, spaces, sayings, portmanteaus. We checked if the .com and other TLDs were available, checked trademarks, and weighted these with a suggested ranking. 3/n

“Why rebrand?” There are some other companies who are also using “Vivid” in or as their name – which is totally common in this age of startups across the world. And, the .com holder is an adult entertainment company.
Vivid served us well and Wist will carry us forward.
