Personally I find first person more immersive but only if I actually feel like I'm getting a chance to help define the protag otherwise it doesn't feel like my story anyhow. Hence in my opinion Roommates was better than Queen of Thieves. :)

QoT was a special case indeed, more like "the sims" than "your personal story"

I prefer to see my character, otherwise what was the point of cc. However, the reason you mentioned first person for 'scene's and the way you are outlining the game wouldn't bother me as such given the limitations you have to work with.

in practice if people want to customize their character, that's the simplest way to do it

Nope because I don't see "myself" as the protagonist. Even if I can define their personality and such, I like to think they're their own character, like the others. Besides, what's the point of customization if you can't even see the char in game?
best to have a predefined oneThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
