I'm not a huge fan of the style of Ren'Py scripting that uses ConditionSwitch everywhere. It's asking for performance problems.

Same problem here. It’s either switches or a whole mess of redundant displayables and static hard coding, which aren’t great either.

yep, in my latest game I have customizable portrait images using LiveComposite, ConditionSwitch and variable substitution all in one. That's the only way I could do it
