It could depend on difficulty level. Fi: rubberband in "Story Mode", go hardcore in "Challenge".

Yeah maybe allow restart in normal but not hard mode.

in my RPG I do this: achievements unlock only if you beat all enemies in hard/nightmare mode. So you might do something similar :)
