people who don't make games (but I guess it's the same for book,movies or any other creative task) have no idea how seriously depressing can be to work hard on a game, and then have it flop on launch It happened to me at least 3-4 times so far and every time I wanted to quit!

While feeling that way is understandable, there are just so many factors outside your control that determine if something sells. Could be a failure of marketing or changing tastes etc. none of which necessarily reflect on the quality of the work.
