people who don't make games (but I guess it's the same for book,movies or any other creative task) have no idea how seriously depressing can be to work hard on a game, and then have it flop on launch It happened to me at least 3-4 times so far and every time I wanted to quit!

The question is - how do you define "flop" or "success"? By any means, my first game could be considered either.

yes that's a good question. I define flop if it GREATLY underperformed vs developer's expectations. I don't think it's a global value but depends on individual expectations
