I see devs saying "Steam is earning their 30%". Well... yes and no. Of course you get more exposure than in other PC stores (but this is also due to non-existant competition). However, have they released a game in the last couple of years? because things changed A LOT!

I don't like to think of it in terms of whether or not Valve "earns" the cut they take. To me, it's just a question of whether or not I find it reasonable, which I do - which is not to say I would be against it being less ;)

I'd like a proportional cut based on revenues. Would be nice/ethical to help small devs going on more than big AAA companies... :)

30% is a lie, they took more than that, not including taxes and regional pricing.
