Imma be honest I've seen very little compelling evidence that wishlists innately do much of anything for devs aside from those wishlists that actually represent a desire to purchase the game at release

I think wishlists are like visitors on a website, depending how well "targeted" the customers are, the conversion rate (people buying the game on launch) changes.
I've had very different results, though lately I admit the CR is low like 0,05%
