The best way to get into ganedev is to ship a game in roughly 2014-2015 when Steam greenlight was at the best difficulty to reward ratio. The 2nd best is to ship in the first half of 2017 right before Valve releases the floodgates on greenlight, tanking indie visibility on Steam
