I checked some of my games achievements to see how many % of people finished them and results are: Loren - 10.7% Cursed Lands - 28.3% SOTW - 18.5% PS2 - 22.8% they're all fairly long games of minimum 25h each. By comparison Love Bites has 55% of people who reached the end

clarification: by finished I meant they reached AT LEAST one ending (in case of Love Bites). For the RPGs, I put an achievement when you reach the end, so if players didn't unlock that, means they never finished the game

I think though those stats are screwed in particular for Loren, since it was bundled, and most people buying games in bundles are unlikely to care about finishing a game (they probably just fired it up to get the cards and done :P)

Shorter games is a good idea, there is a short VN that I enjoyed and actually finished called: "Tomboys Need Love Too!". It might be a bit too short, but still good.
-
a good story is good even if is short, or shorter than my usual games that are really too long vs the average

I think it's up to you. Personally, I always try going for all of the achievements because I'm a bit of a completionist, but probably most people don't care. lol
-
well but in this case I wasn't referring to get all achievements, but finish the game at least once!

I am going to try some shorter games next, alongside my usual longer ones to see what happens
