I'm going to write a post (on Patreon, in the "behind the scenes" category that becomes public a month later) about my KS experience and considerations. In short: it's a very good way to validate an idea from the start. In hindsight I wish I did that for PS2 too

I mean, I'd have done PS2 anyway, but based on KS feedback I could have tweaked/changed it, removed some unnecessary stuff that delayed development time greatly like for example crafting (which I think wasn't needed at all in the end) etc
