lol even for a simple match3 I'm stumbling into the most absurd bugs. This time, I load a save made after the match3 has ended (normal line of text) and it brings it back to the last match3 move. Crazy, never seen this in 10 years working with Ren'Py
lol if I don't fix this, I can't use this system (reloading and brings you back several steps causes all kind of issues) and I honestly I have no clue why this is happening. It was nice while it lasted, my match3 friend

Sounds more like a mechanic to me. But then again, I hate RenPy... I'm good at languages but that stuff in the scripts made me have migraines...

If it was in Renpy what would you do? Go to the community of devs to troubleshoot. Reach out to that community and see what happens. My guess is that the state is not fully updated when you save, or the restore is failing to fully apply.

it was due to a different kind of call from the usual ones, but I'm working with coder now to find out a solution

I ran into this bug YEARS ago with my battle royale game. I couldn't have the inventory usable from the main screen. I had to create a whole new instance or else it would do just what you're saying.

yes we solved it, the culprit was call_in_new_context inside a function called by the main screen inside a while loop! :D we had to use jump_out_of_context but now works :)
