so my new theory about Steam reviews is: "if you make a game that meets all expectations from your trailer and game page, you'll get high review ratings, that's the most important thing" I'd say that game quality matters but not as much as "fulfilling the promise" to players

examples for VNs: - a well written otome game, family friendly, etc but on the other hand boring and not innovative would still get high ratings - an equally well written LGBT game with swearing or dark/mature themes or talking about politically incorrect stuff, low ratings
