I think devs should try from time to time, to do something new, break completely from their usual standards/things they do. That's how I moved from my previous sports sim/strategy games to visual novels, and how I decided to make RPG/VNs after all

it might not always go well (I had my fair share of disappointments) but if you can afford it, it's always good to try. The mistake is to try something different with a BIG game. Nope, do it with a smaller one first, to test the waters.

In summary that's why I'm currently planning on making a match 3-puzzle quest game but a SMALL one, not something huge as first attempt! :D
