BlitzMax. It handled drawing, sound, file handling and had some basic useful classes like a list. But I coded a full UI system (screens, dialogs, buttons, lists, scrollbars, checkboxes, sliders etc), sprites, particles, profile system, bitmap font system, + a lot more.

Many game engines would already have the stuff I coded in it. BlitzMax is really a language not a game engine. It just handles some lower level functions and cross-platform stuff for you. You have to do the rest.
