Not to be a dick but that doesn't really answer my question. You've just listed a bunch of tools that can be used to build a game. I'm curious where someone draws the line from a framework to an engine

in my opinion an engine lets you build a game from scratch, while a framework is usually built on the top of an engine, like in Jake's case, he built his framework using Blitz3d (I think, not sure if is called differently now)
