in the last year only I had some ideas which I think were "new" (well new enough) that were turned into real games already by other people. The truth is that there are thousands devs all competing with you

Even if you may have an idea that’s not relatively new, but you really want to do it, I think you should because ideas are reinvented all the time. The things that you put on the table that may distinguish yourself from others is how you tell it which is a beautiful thing

That's one thing I'm afraid of, been working on my new game for 3 years. However there's so many elements in it (including the big story) that even if someone copied my main gameplay twist, there's NO WAY it would be the same!

for story-based games is different indeed, I mean you can't really write the same identical story of someone else :P for gameplay instead...
