well in theory using pygame you could do any kind of game but of course not the best tool to develop, for example, a tower defense or platform game!

however, I'm making a RPG with isometric map and fog of war, and I'm thinking to do a puzzle-quest clone, so unless there's a lot of movement on screen you can do many things :P
