on a totally unrelated note, have you tried Ubuntu recently? it has improved GREATLY. I installed it on an external SSD and I can boot it from 3 different PCs, one of them a 6 years old crappy notebook. It always runs smoothly with zero problems, impressive

Have you heard of the quite recent drama when Ubuntu also tried to phase out 32 bit support from a release to a release? (I am mentioning it in the context of what is happening with macOS lately)

No I missed that! But the real issue is the notarization IMHO

As a daily Mac user 32 bit is a bigger issue because it's a kernel level change not a policy. I have abandonware no one has bothered rewriting and a LOT of utilities and Japanese games I run through WINE.

Notarization is a cancer on application development and I sincerely hope some big name nongame devs pull out to make the point to Apple but it *is* circumventable. Cutting off 32 bit is not.

well is cicurmventable but only to expert users, most regular users won't see their favorite apps and blame "lazy devs". In reality as I'll explain in a blog post, it's just a first step towards full control and censorship :/ I agree and hope some big name does what you said!

I've read your blogs on this but so far only indie crossplat game devs are making a ruckus over this. Unity devs will be interesting to watch.
