so when I say that in Loren 2 the continuing romances won't have a full story arc like in the first game I still mean each one will probably be of this same length, which honestly it's bigger than most other games out there (some fans were worried lol). Small games (tm)!

As a scenarist who subcontracts writing the way it's often done in Japan, what do you wish you'd known when you started out doing that?

in general I think is better to not give too much freedom to a writer but put down a basic storyboard for them to follow. Also if you can afford it, hire professionals or set a fixed deadline otherwise there can be a lot of delays!

I often see this words count metric or playtime. It's so stupid! A sprite in front of a background talking for hours is enough then! Why caring about developing interesting stories, arts, voice over, and interactions if dumbs are judging by words counts/price ratio?

all that matters is the experience indeed, a game can be 500k words but if it's a boring or badly written story, it won't matter :P
