Requiring a single authority to sign every exe with some automated garbage that would not prevent any sort of determined circumvention is actually not a very good awesome security feature.

It's purely a walled garden control scheme that will do nothing to actually protect users from an attack vector that has any effort put into it.

The only thing it protects you from are developers without significant resources to invest in packing and delivery (i.e. a vast majority of small developers and open source projects)

many devs who were supporting Macs only thanks to cross-platform capabilities of their engines now will stop bothering completely considering also the small % of overall sales
