Q. Do you think this applies to Steam? Or is it just for direct downloads/the app store? Because Steam has a launcher and in the past you haven't needed to codesign Mac apps run via their launcher. Same with http://itch.io I believe.

same here. We need to stop supporting platforms/OSes that instead of helping devs, do anything to slow us down putting hurdles over hurdles. When nobody makes apps for them maybe they'll understand (or maybe not) My Mac sales are 6-7% anyway, not worth my time!
