I just realized something that's not good for my kind of games:
1) localization has become very important
2) translation costs are high (if you want good results)
3) games with a lot of wordcount = very expensive
4) visual novels are a bad genre choice right now

I'm both talking about money and time costs. Example: my game is very short with only 500-1000 words (not a VN obviously! :D). I could try and risk losing money / time to do the translation. But with games so long AND complex like mine, the money/time invested is too much!

Thinking about a Chinese translation?

that could be one, but the prices are definitely too high for my kind of games!

I know there's unofficial fan translations of some of your games; don't know how practical/cost-effective it would be to license & quality check those vs a new translation, since they already exist & there's an audience that you can convert from pirates to paying customers.

yeah I'm not sure, I mean it's also about the time. If my game had 500-1000 words I could try both spending my money/time since wouldn't be a big deal if didn't work out. But such long games are too much of a gamble!
