Have played a bit of Assassin's Creed Odyssey now. I did not expect it to be so RPGish which I'm very pleased about :) The world is staggeringly beautiful, it's kind of bonkers how far videogames have come. I still prefer a pirate theme to Greek/Sparta as a preference though.

So aside from preferring the extreme sea weather from Black Flag, and the general pirate setting, everything else about Odyssey is an improvement. Combat significantly improved, story seems better so far too. Nice to have the choice between male and female protagonist, especially

...since I didn't get on at all with the male character. Altogether too jolly for my tastes :D Restarted as the female character and I much prefer her - almost entirely due to voice acting.

Her voice acting makes the game for me. Takes what is otherwise a fairly generic character and elevates it to where she could read the phone book and I’d be riveted.

Have you played as the male character? Because I agree with you, but I didn't give the male character much of a chance overall - perhaps he changes over the course of the game.

I’ve seen clips, and he’s perfectly fine. He’s good, even. But Kassandra’s VO is kind of transcendent.

seriously why you'd ever want to have that bearded annoying guy always on screen as you play? Kassandra is so much nicer to look at (and I agree on the VO, there's the italian version but I kept the original since was much better)
